Three Webster County golf teams celebrated achievements this week. On Tuesday, April 25, the Marshfield Golf team hosted its invitational tournament at the Whispering Oaks Golf Course.
Over 90 players from around the area participated. The Marshfield team placed seventh out of the 19 teams that entered. Individual highlights include Wyatt Davis scoring 77 and Michael Alves with 80. Tate Boles made a personal best with a score of 93. Jackson Gardner made 94 points. Tyler Young shot a total of 96. Daniel Minton finished the tournament with a score of 109.
On the other side of the county, Strafford participated in the Midlake Conference at the Holiday Hills Golf course that same day. They took on Forsyth, Republic, Fair Grove, and many others. After many hours and many club swings, Strafford placed first and earned the title of MidLakes Conference Champions.
Logan-Rogersville boys golf brought home the BIG 8 Conference championship over the weekend, winning the tournament in Neosho.
"Our top two guys had rough days but the other three golfers picked up the slack and we managed to win by a stroke over Monet," said Head Coach John Schaefer. "I'm proud of the work they have put in this year."
Tyler Davis had the top score of the day with an 85, Stewart McDonald finished with an 83, followed by Ben Roche with 82, Bryce Mashal with 76 and Cole Goff with 74.
Marshfield would also compete in the BIG 8 Conference and place third overall, with Sophomore Michael Alves finishing with a 74 and placing second in the individual championship. The Other Bluejay varsity players included Tyler Young with 89, Wyatt Davis with 90, Jackson Gardner with 90, and Daniel Minton with 114.
The District championship will occur this Thursday, May 4, at Whispering Oaks Golf Course in Marshfield.
