Boys golf recap: Week one

Golf Re-tee

Posted

Last week was the official tee-off for Marshfield and Logan-Rogersville boys' golf teams. Both teams attended the Reed Springs Tournament located at Pointe Royale in Branson after a day of bogeys, drives, and birdies Logan-Rogersville's team placed first in the tournament, with three members getting individual medals. The Marshfield team would rank fourth in the tournament, with a few members in the top 20.

"I was pleased with our team effort, especially with only two returning varsity golfers (Alves and Davis). Both of them were pleased with their round of golf, with this being the first tournament of the spring and on a golf course that neither had previously seen. Earlier in the week we had concerns that the weather would be difficult, but we lucked out and had a really nice day with temperatures in the upper 60s throughout most of the day. I felt like that helped the entire field because no one likes to play in the rain or cold. I'm also excited to see Jackson Gardner and others develop throughout the season." told Marshfield boys golf coach Reggie Smith.

The following players placed in the top 20:

- Tyler Davis- 2nd Place from Logan- Rogersville

- Ben Roach- 3rd place from Logan-Rogersville

- Cole Goff- 9th place from Logan-Rogersville

- Michael Alves- 11th place from Marshfield

- Wyatt Davis -18th place from Marshfield

The Logan-Rogerville team's next match will be on April 3 at the Clever Tournament, which will take place at the Hidden Valley Golf Course, while Marshfield will be in Bolivar at the Silo Ridge Country Club.
