Tuesday August 27th Webster Lodge #98 held its monthly stated meeting with a dinner of BLT’s, cantaloupe and watermelon at 6 p.m. At 7 p.m. Worshipful Master Pat Blinzler opened the lodge in due form. There was one guest, and fifteen members in attendance. The minutes were read and approved. Treasurer Brooks presented bids on replacement of the roof, which was damaged with many others during the hailstorm several months ago. It was decided to set trusses that drain to the south of the building and screw down a metal roof. The decision was also reached, that since the guttering was in bad shape ten years ago it should be replaced as well. Also discussed was the upcoming Harvest Days Breakfast from 7-11 a.m. on Saturday the 21st. Bill O’Fare will consist of pancakes with sausage and biscuits and gravy. Cost is $5.00 per plate with proceeds going toward the shortfall in roof repairs. Any Brother wishing to help, is encouraged to get a hold of Brother Herren. Last item of old business was the upcoming annual Chili and Gumbo luncheon fundraiser for Parents as Teachers on October 5th. Mark your calendars for this great cause.
