CarePortal launched by Community Foundation

The Marshfield Area Community Foundation is excited to announce the launch of CarePortal, a new initiative aimed at providing immediate support to local children and families in need.

CarePortal is a technology platform that connects child welfare agencies with community members, including churches and individuals, who can help fulfill urgent needs such as food, clothing, and other essential items. This initiative is set to make a significant impact across the entire county, enhancing the well-being of vulnerable families and fostering a sense of community support.

Alan Balmer, who was instrumental in bringing this opportunity to the Marshfield Area Community Foundation Board of Directors, expressed his hopes for the program's broader impact. “ The Marshfield Area Community Foundation (MACF) board members were looking for a way for churches, non-profits, agencies, and individuals in Webster County to better connect with one another. MACF believes that the web/app based system that CarePortal utilizes will allow faster connections to be made in order to meet the needs of those in the county," Balmer said. By addressing these immediate needs, CarePortal not only provides material assistance but also strengthens families and helps prevent crises that could lead to children entering foster care.

Individuals and organizations in the Marshfield area are encouraged to get involved with CarePortal and help make a difference. Once child care workers identify a need, it is shared through the platform with nearby churches and community members.
