Slimed in the name of problem solving

Posted

The Webster Student Leadership Team was challenged to solve a problem with the school or community. The students decided to fix the slide at Rotary Park because they wanted to do something that would impact more people in the community.

They knew they would need a partner to help accomplish the project, so the students presented their ideas to City Administrator Sam Rost and the Rotary Club of Marshfield. Both the city and the Rotary Club were eager to help our students make their goal a reality.

The Leadership Team students created a Penny War fundraiser and the Rotary Club agreed to match what the students raised up to $1,500. If the school raised $1,500, Mr. White and Mr. Rost would also get slimed.

All on their own, our students raised $4,000. With the generous financial support from the Rotary Club, we were able to raise a grand total of $5,500!

The city agreed to cover the cost of the remaining expenses. Webster Elementary is so thankful to have such a supportive community, and are so proud of the efforts of our school and Student Leadership Team.
