Fall Baseball

The Conway Bears had a busy week that began when they played the Iberia Rangers on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at home. The Rangers put seven runs to the Bears zero and rode away with a win.

The Bears hosted Dixon the next day on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at home, and lost again 1-10.

Conway turned it around in a Summit Conference matchup at Norwood. The Bears skunked the Pirates with five runs to take home the win on Thursday, Sept. 25.

The Pirates are on a three-game win streak.

Stoutland fell to Fordland on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

The Pirates went to Ozark County to play the Bulldogs on Monday, Sept. 25 and lost in a high scoring 12-13 game.

Fall Softball

The Marshfield Lady Bluejays won in their match against Seneca on Tuesday, Sept. 19, scoring 9-4.

On Thursday, Sept. 21, the Lady Jays went to Nevada and lost 1-4.

The Big 8 Tournament was held on Saturday, Sept. 22. Marshfield beat the Wildcats 17-4 in the first round. Chloe Bateman hit her second Grand Slam of the year

The next day, the Jays beat Cassville 5-4 in 8 innings and lost to Nevada 1-2 to close out the tournament with a second-place finish.

On Monday, Sept. 25, The Jays hosted the Hillcrest Hornets. Marshfield won in 12-2 blowout. 

The Logan-Rogersville Wildcats took a W against Hillcrest on Wednesday, Sept. 20.

The Cats traveled to Monett on Tuesday, Sept. 26. Check next week’s edition of The Marshfield Mail to see how they did.

Volleyball

The Lady Jays are on a three-game win streak after defeating Hollister and Springfield Catholic last week.

The Jays went to Hollister and left with a 3-0 W on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

Marshfield hosted Springfield Catholic on Thursday, Sept. 21, and won 3-0.

On Monday, Sept. 25, the Jays hosted the Liberty Patriots and won 3-1. 

The Strafford Indians defeated Licking 3-0 in their match on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

The Indians hosted the Strafford Volleyfest last week starting on Saturday, Sept. 23.

On Tuesday, Sept. 26, the Indians traveled to Miller. Check next week’s edition of The Marshfield Mail to see how they did.

The Logan-Rogersville Wildcats played Fair Grove on Thursday, Sept. 21, and lost in a close 2-3 match.

On Monday, Sept. 25, the Cats hosted the West Plains Zizzers and won 3-1.

The Conway Lady Bears lost to Sparta on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

The Lady Bears went to Mansfield on Friday, Sept. 22.

Conway returned to Mansfield the next day for the first annual Mansfield Invitational. The Lady Bears took home third place.

On Monday, Sept. 25, the Lady Bears took on the Ava Bears at home and lost 0-3.

The Fordland Eagles defeated Everton in their match at home on Thursday, Sept. 21.

The next day, the Eagles traveled to New Covenant Academy and lost 0-3.

On Saturday, Sept. 23, Fordland entered the Galena VolleyBear Classic.

Golf

Marlee Edgeman took first place at the Strafford Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 19, shooting a 73. The Bluejays took 3rd overall.

The Lady Jays traveled to Springfield for the MSU Relays on Friday, Sept. 22.

On Monday, Sept. 25, Marshfield headed east to Lebanon for a meet.

The Indians took first place at their own tournament. Mary Reaves shot an 87, McKenna Peterson finished with a 93, and DeLainey Hedger had a 95.

“The varsity group has done a really good job at focusing on the weak parts of their game and improving each day,” said head coach Steve Frank. “We have great parents that take them out and provide the opportunities for them to practice on their own and continue to grow and improve.”

Hayden Davis placed 8th overall in the 100 Fly with a time of 1:11.16.

Drew Henry placed 6th in the 50 free with a new Personal Best time of 24.69 and 5th in the 100 free with a time of 55.88.

Tennis

The Lady Cats had a match at Central on Monday, Sept. 25. Rogersville won 7-2.

The Cats are 11-5 on the season.
