Hi everyone! Are you ready for a new rambling this week to get you revved up? Two weeks ago, we started a new series about a civil war love story between a young lady whose parents are southerners and a young man whose dad is the Union Captain of the Webster County Home Guard. As you can imagine, the sparks fly quickly when our southern family is established, and their political viewpoints are known. Let’s review it just in case you are a new reader. more

After a night spent hiding in the woods, Madison Rueckert turned herself into the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office. According to the probably cause statement Rueckert shot her boyfriend in the head then got in her car and drove to Dallas County where she parked her car on the side of the road and then hid in the woods over night. more
Well, everyone, it is indeed that time of the year again. Everyone in Webster County will be receiving a letter for their personal property assessment. It may not be everyone’s favorite piece of mail, but it is part of our civic duties as citizens of this place we call home. more

The day of celebration at the Webster County courthouse last Friday, Dec 30, continued with a goodbye. After serving Webster County for 12 years, Gary Don Letterman, Recorder of Deeds, retired, and a party was held in his honor, complete with punch, cake, gifts, and fellowship. more
It seems early to think about, but this issue of the Marshfield Mail is indeed the last one for 2022. It has been an exciting year, allowing us to welcome the New Year by setting goals or resolutions for ourselves. Whether you do or do not set resolutions, it is good to set goals for yourself. Just remember to be honest with yourself and to not set unrealistic goals. more
