May 13 proved to be quite successful for the track and field teams of Webster County.
Starting was Conway, who participated in Class 2 Sectionals. Their track team would end up with three members advancing to state in seven events.
Conway State Qualifiers are Gibby Beckler after placing second in Javelin and third in Shot Put events.
Dorthea Gantert in the High and Long Jump after she placed second and fourth in those events at sectionals.
After placing fourth in the 400 and 800-meter dashes, Dominick Zaffos also qualified for state.
On the other side of the county, Marshfield and Logan-Rogersville participated in the Class 4 districts, the winners qualifying for sectionals.
From Logan-Rogersville, the girls 4x8 and boys' 4x2 relay teams placed third, meaning they will move on to sectionals. Also moving on to sectionals are the following individuals and their respective events.
Madyson (Maddy) Stewart placed third in Shot Put and fourth in Discus.
Aleyna Farran in the 100-meter Hurdles placed second.
Grace Johnson placed second in the 300-meter Hurdles event.
Leiah O'Neal, in the High Jump event, placed fourth.
Carter Athen placed third in the 100-meter dash and second in the 200-meter dash.
Nate Knowles placed third in the High Jump.
Joyle Seu rounds out the team after placing second in the 110-meter Hurdles event.
Marshfield's Athletic Director Ronda Hubbard said it best when recapping Marshfield's results at Districts "What a great weekend for the Marshfield Track and Field teams. The Lady Jays won their first District title ever, while the boys finished 2nd for the first time since 1987."
For Marshfield, the Girl's relay team placed first in 4x100 and 4x200 meters and third in the 4x400. The Boys' relay teams placed second in the 4x100 and first in the 4x200.
Individually, Emma Dinkins placed second in the 100 and 200-meter dash events.
Jordan Jung was in the 400-meter dash and placed fourth.
Tilly Greenfield placed first in the High Jump and Long Jump events.
Grace Kimrey earned second in High Jump.
Abigail McBride placed second in Long Jump and first in Triple Jump.
Cathryn Winegard in Pole Vault placed third.
Gracelyn Bull received second in the Discus event.
Lauren Luebbert earned second in Javelin.
Adyson Clark, in the Shot Put event, earned second place.
Marcus Blackstock got first in the 100-meter and third in the 200-meter dash events.
Marcus Grits placed fourth in the 200-meter and second in the 400-meter dash.
Zach Mitchell in the 800-meter run and second in the 1600-meter run.
Zackary Mings earned second in the High Jump event.
Bryant Bull placed first in Long Jump, first in Triple Jump, and second in Javelin.
Bryden Hicks in the Long Jump and Triple Jump events placed second in both events.
