Marshfield Swimming has welcomed two students from Hartville to the Lady Bluejays girls swim team this upcoming season in the pool.
Missouri State High School Activities Association approved the merger as a “Cooperative Sponsorship” earlier this month. As a result, Hartville junior Sofia Harris and freshman Kennedy Raney will compete as Marshfield Bluejays.
The Jays also welcome two Marshfield juniors in Katelin Lawrence and Elizabeth Jenkins.
“Both are newcomers to the program,” said Marshfield swim coach Nunn. “They’ve caught on quick. I’m excited to see how they do.”
Sophomores Molly Henry, Addison Hoefer, Keely Devoto and Kaylee Meisenheimer. All competed Iast year as freshman under former head coach Ann Leonard.
Henry and Devoto will be the team’s sprinters. Hoefer will be the butterfly stroke specialist.
“We have a hard-working sophomore group that is making huge strides in just the first couple of weeks of practice,” added Nunn. “I expect some of these girls to drop some major time over the season.”
The Lady Jays have their first meet at Carthage at the Carthage All Relays on Thursday, Nov. 30.
