Among the stars

“It’s a privilege to be able to continue this tradition in my father-in-laws honor,” said Brand as he installed the stars ahead of the 2022 Cherry Blossom Festival on Tuesday April 26.”

The stars along the sidewalk paint a scene typical of big cities like Hollywood or New York. However, the quaint city of Marshfield is home to its very own “Missouri Walk of Fame.” The idea of glamorizing the historic downtown sidewalk began in 2006. The stars honor famous Missourians and ultimately has become a yearly tradition, with six installments on Tuesday April 26. The stars had previously been installed by Don Hartwell, who volunteered his time. When Hartwell passed in 2021, the torch was passed on to his son-in-law, Michael Brand.
