From left, Fordland High School FCCLA advisor Kerri Long, Haven Short, Abi Burks, Jorja Davidson and Abby Lawson with the baby clothes Fordland FCCLA collected for the Sleepers in September program conducted by Newborns in Need.

The Fordland FCCLA club collected a huge number of sleepers to help Newborns in Need’s “Sleepers in September” program. There were also warm onesies, blankets, and more baby clothing.

Newborns in Need (NIN) will distribute these sleepers in southwest Missouri through hospitals, health departments, pregnancy centers and emergency facilities. Ask at your county health department if your baby needs warm clothing for this winter. The health departments also accept new and gently used baby donations all year long.

Newborns in Need is a nonprofit organization that distributes free-of-charge essentials such as diapers, clothing, blankets, bottles, toiletries, and other needed items to babies of low-income families and babies that may be ill or born prematurely. All donations stay in the community.

Others in the community wishing to donate a portion of their time and talent to Newborns in Need can contact Patty Shull, SWMO chapter president, at swmo@newbornsinneed.net, 417-741-7516 or www.facebook.com/NewbornsinNeedSWMO/.
