Rebekah Ferguson’s fifth-graders welcomed Judge Doug Gaston and Landon Kemp, author and illustrator of two picture books, “Believe” and “Turtle or Tortoise” on Monday, Dec. 11, at Fordland Elementary School.

Judge Gaston spoke to the class about the meaning behind his two books.  He stressed the importance of believing in yourself and working hard for it. Landon Kemp, illustrator, showed and discussed his detailed pictures in the books to the class. State Representative Hannah Kelly was also present and read one of the books to the class. Gaston also donated two books to the Fordland Elementary library.
