This past Monday, Nov. 14, coaches, athletes and faculty members of Marshfield were honored when women's basketball legend and SMS Alumni Jackie Stiles offered to speak on her own pursuit to excellence and overcoming adversity. more
Strafford played the Liberty Eagles (Mountain View) Friday, Nov. 4 hoping to advance in Class II districts. However, it was apparent the Liberty Eagles were prepared to beat Strafford on the Eagle's home-turf. Liberty dominated the game with multiple interceptions and successful passes to the end-zone.  more

The Marshfield Blue Jays boys swim team competed in the Southwest Missouri Swim meet along with 20 other teams on October 28 and 29, 2022. The preliminary competitions were help on Friday the 28 and the top 18 swimmers in each event would advance to the Finals on Saturday the 29. more
Marshfield Alumni may recall a program called S.T.E.P. or Students To Employment Program years ago. As the name implies, the goal was to help students enter the workforce after high school. It was Marshfield Schools’ take on a national program that was going on at the time. Unfortunately, the program discontinued due to budget cuts. Years later, the program is back, but now it is known by its official title, Jobs for America’s Graduates or J.A.G. more
Things will be charming and sleepy at the Carl & Glessie Young Auditorium as the Marshfield High School presents Once Upon a Mattress. The director and Speech & Debate teacher for Marshfield High School is Greg Holtschneider. He hopes the performing nights are filled with great storytelling. more

The L-R boys' soccer team took on Osage in the district championship match on Nov 2. Both teams were ambitious for this win, but only one would leave with the title this year and move on to State. So, after the starting teams were introduced, including returning goalkeeper Brady Goodson, the championship match commenced. more
Last Thursday, Oct 27, was the final game of the regular season for the Logan-Rogersville Boys Soccer team. The Wildcat's opponent was the Central Bulldogs. But it would be the cherry on top of a sweet record-breaking season if L-R won. more

Last Friday, the Big 8 Conference district tournament for high school football began. The Marshfield Bluejays were pitted against the McDonald County Mustangs. Both teams had lots of hope and expectations riding on the game, including a chance at redemption for the Bluejays as they lost to the Mustangs earlier in the season. So with all the pleasantries out of the way, the game was on. more

Making quite the racquet this season was The Logan-Rogersville Girls’ Tennis Team as they lobbed and clawed to sectionals. The Lady Wildcats are the only tennis team representing Webster County. The team has taken on schools from all over Missouri, including Lee Summit, Joplin, Bolivar, and Helinas Catholic from Jefferson City. more

Students heading to in Niangua R-V schools Tuesday morning were told to brace for a potentially cold day at school. Temperatures dipped into the twenties and administration sent out an all call stating, “We are replacing the HVAC systems before winter which may cause chilly classrooms as fall temps drop. Please, dress appropriately.” more
Anyone who has grown up going to local County Fairs is probably familiar with the animal judging portion of the fair events. Kids of all ages come to show their animals, which range from ducks to cows, for a chance to win the prized blue ribbon and a little cash. more
Last Friday, Oct 7, was a big night for high school football in our area. Known as the “Battle for Webster County”, the Marshfield Bluejays traveled to the L-R Wildcats to face off for the county title. more

Saturday morning, Oct 1, was a big day for Webster County as two high school bands competed in the 50th Ozarko Marching Festival at the Missouri State University stadium. Those representing Webster County and competing in the Silver Disivion included the Marshfield Bluejay and Logan-Rogersville Wildcat Marching Bands. For both bands, it was an opportunity to showcase their talents against other bands of their caliber in the state. more
Most Marshfield area natives are familiar with the “thrift store by the Health Department” but what most people may not be aware of is that the Community Thrift Store (the actual legal name) is filling a large need in local school systems, specifically in the Special Education Classrooms. more
