Market in the Park is a series of events throughout the year that are held once a month. Event organizer Bailey Tennis says the next one will take place Saturday, May 20 from 9:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m..
The mission is to help grow local small businesses within the community. Vendors at Market in the Park are able to promote and sell their products with minimal time investment and low booth costs.
“These events are important to the City of Rogersville to help grow local small businesses,” Tennis stated. “It helps individuals get a taste of what it is like to run a small business. It’s a small, simple way that we can help give back to the community.”
The event will be held at Rogersville Community Park, located at 270 County Line Road. Market in the Park will have food trucks, direct sales vendors, like Pampered Chef, and retail sales vendors that sell beautifully crafted soy candles, personalized gift items, clothing, jewelry, and custom metal or wood work. There will also be some produce vendors as well.
When asked about VIP guests Market in the Park Coordinator, Tennis contributed “Market in the Park recognizes that without our community support we wouldn’t be here. So first and foremost, our VIP Guests are always going to be our community members that come each month to shop our small, local businesses.”
“We have an extensive list of community volunteers and other local bigger businesses that sponsor our free to the community events and entertainment that we have at the markets,” she added. “So they deserve recognition as well… Our community members want growth, they want retail stores, they want new restaurants, they want new activities. Those things will come as the city continues to grow, but it’s going to take baby steps. The Market in the Park may seem like a small step in the grand scheme of things, but to many it’s a big step into small business ownership.”
