MCT Celebrates 20th Season Award Show

Accepting the award for Favorite Crew Member is Brandy Rice for her role as Crew Manager during the production of "Almost, Maine."

Marshfield Community Theatre (MCT) proudly announces the winners of its 20th Season Award Show, a celebration of the 2023 season of outstanding theatrical productions. The event, held on Jan. 21, 2024, showcased the remarkable achievements of the casts, crews, and production teams that contributed to the success of MCT throughout its 20th season in 2023.

A complete list of the 40 show awards can be found on MCT’s official website: marshfieldtheatre.org. In addition to these awards, MCT bestowed special recognition upon four exceptional individuals and organizations:

Heritage Award: Laura Vinehout received this prestigious award, honoring her dedication and pivotal role as a founding member who played a crucial part in establishing MCT during its early years.

Favorite Community Supporter Award: Marshfield First Baptist Church was recognized for its unwavering support of MCT over the years, embodying the spirit of community and collaboration.

Board’s Choice Award: Susie Smith was selected by the Board of Directors for her outstanding commitment to MCT throughout the 20th season, exemplifying dedication and passion.

Shooting Star Award: Kelby Lorenz was voted on by the casts and crews of the 20th season, earning this award for going above and beyond to support MCT.

Reaching the 20th season is a significant milestone for any community theatre. According to the National Center on Charitable Statistics, nearly 30% of nonprofits fail to exist after ten years, making MCT’s achievement truly remarkable. The success and continuation of MCT’s journey into its 21st season are attributed to the unwavering support of the community.

As part of the celebration, MCT proudly announced its 21st season lineup during the award show. The upcoming productions include:

Puffs Or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic (Opening in April)

Disney’s High School Musical On Stage! (Opening in June)

Finding Nemo Kids (Education Institute, Opening in September)

Leaving Iowa (Opening in October)

Holly Jolly Holiday Show (Opening in December)
