Marshfield Wrestling: Blue and White

Posted

The Marshfield Blue Jays wrestlers hit the mat on Friday November 18 for the annual Blue and White event. Historically, the Blue and White allowed players to “wrestle-off” for their place in the Varsity line up however, varsity rosters were set before the event so Friday was an opportunity for wrestlers to get some time on the mat, show off their skills and prepare themselves for the season ahead.

“I saw a lot of toughness and grit from our wrestlers,” shared Girls Head Coach Adam Wright. “The toughness that they showed in their first live matches of the year gives me a lot of excitement about our season. All our girls went out there, competed and gave it their all. I am ready to see that against other teams.”

As for the boys, Head Coach Matt Holt expressed similar enthusiasm. “It went well. We got match experience while staying healthy. Our variety line up is pretty much set so there were not real wrestle-off’s except for two weight classes and even those matches are not final as we will finish the best of 3 series in our room this week.”
