Marijana microbusiness licenses issued

Posted

The Missouri Division of Cannabis Regulation (DCR) issued 48 marijuana microbusiness licenses this week to the top applicants drawn in the Aug. 28 lottery. To ensure the integrity of the random drawing, the Missouri Lottery conducted the drawing without reference to the identities of the applicants.

DCR received more than 1,600 applications during the July 27-August 10 application period. Of these applicants, four were from Webster County. All four were denied. One license was issued in Laclede County and at least one was approved in Greene County. A full list of lottery drawing results and approved microbusiness licensees can be found on the Department website, cannabis.mo.gov.

Six total microbusiness licenses were awarded in each of Missouri’s eight congressional districts. Of each of these six microbusinesses, two are dispensary licenses and four are wholesale facilities. The DCR reviewed the drawn applications ahead of the licenses being issued to determine whether applicants were eligible to receive a license.

Those who applied and did not get chosen by lottery will be eligible for a refund by submitting a micro business application refund request form. It will be granted if the applicant met the criteria for a license and has no pending or future litigation. Refund requests will be accepted beginning on Nov. 2, and the form and refund instructions will be available on the DCR website by that date.

48 additional licenses will be issued through each lottery window in 2024 and 2025. For more about licensing and application requirements, visit cannabis.mo.gov.
