Let's try that again

In my spare time, I like to play video games. I have always enjoyed the different worlds and stories explored in games. One minute I could be a plumber jumping on water chestnuts, a knight climbing a tower, or even a superhero fighting to save the day—all of this from the comfort of my home.

Games can be a source of life lessons, such as understanding mental disorders, not judging based on appearances, resource management, and much more.

Recently, I have been reminded that life can be difficult, and sometimes you must reset. Allow me to give you more context. There is a style of video games called rouge-like. They include titles like Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Hades, and Slay the Spire. The game's main appeal is as you progress through the many beautiful and challenging levels, there is a high chance that you will die and have to start over, which can be frustrating when you make a lot of progress only to make a simple mistake or get killed by an enemy. Each time though, through trial and error, you do eventually overcome the levels and win the game.

Why would anyone play a game like this, you might be asking. For me and others, it's because of the challenge. As I play, I'm reminded that, like many things in life, they are not given to you for free. If you want something, you have to put effort into it.

Is it difficult? Absolutely. Is it worth the struggle? I think so. Such is the way of life. To overcome a problem, sometimes you have to look at a problem from a different perspective, Take a step back, assess the situation, and apply the knowledge you have gained. Another lesson to learn from games, you can handle the problem with others. If you need help, all you have to do is reach out and ask, and you will get the help you need.

In my years of living and playing video games, the most challenging step is accepting that your way of solving a problem is not working and that you need to change your strategy. But when you change your perspective, you figure out what to do. You will be surprised at what you can accomplish.
