Happy Independence Day from Copper Rock Village

Posted

Copper Rock Village in Rogersville celebrated its first-ever Independence Day Festival on June 24. The event was filled with music, food, and family fun. Copper Rock Village is a retirement home filled with friendly staff and cool residents. This year the village decided they would celebrate the season with a BANG!

Despite the heat and potential rain, many people made their way to enjoy and see what Copper Rock Village had to offer. The live band was heard playing country classics like The Dance, Watermelon Crawl, and many more.

The kids entertained themselves thanks to all the inflatables and waterworks. Adults were able to check out the motorcycles and classic cars on display while enjoying the food and atmosphere.

Another highlight for those in attendance was the competitions. Kids, adults, cars, and even pets were all encouraged to compete. The prizes included trophies, medals, gift cards, and gift baskets. The most competitive was the watermelon eating competition. A line of 20 hungry people raced to see who could eat a slice of watermelon the quickest. Truly a fun sight to behold.

The night was rounded out with fireworks, an explosive way to wrap up the event.
