The City of Rogersville’s Annual Independence Day Celebration starts on Saturday, June 24 at 3 p.m. at the City Park, 270 County Line Road. The parade will begin at 5 p.m. with floats lining up at 4 p.m. and the event is held light rain or shine. The theme for this year’s parade is “Honoring our Veterans.”
“There’s also a Market in the Park going on at the same time as our parade, and it begins at 3 that afternoon,” said City Administrator Chad Bybee. “This is a very long-standing tradition and we hope to see everyone out celebrating.”
From 3 p.m. until dark, the community can enjoy food from a variety of food trucks, games, vendors, inflatables, family friendly entertainment and more at the city park pavilion. The music lineup includes Rocks and Stones Country at 4 p.m. and Rusty Rose at 7 p.m.
“We’re going to have music and all kinds of activities and food, so there’s something to do for people of all ages,” Bybee added.
A fireworks show provided by the City of Rogersville will go off at dusk. Those interested in having a booth, food truck, or would like to help sponsor can contact Bailey Tennis at (417) 988-9501 or by emailing marketinthepark15@gmail.com.
All parade floats must register for the parade through the Rogersville Chamber of Commerce no later than Wednesday, June 21.
