As Friends of Hidden Waters gets closer to completing the Welcome Center, also known as the new Chamber of Commerce office located at 720 W Hubble Dr, people visiting will see a natural addition to the place thanks to a local surprise.
"I was looking for a live edge table for the center," recalled Debra Rainey, Vice President of the Friends of Hidden Waters, Inc. "I was searching online and came across a gentleman on Etsy whose description read that he was located within the Ozarks Mountains, so my first thought was, 'Okay, he must live somewhere near Branson.' I sent him a message introducing myself and explained that we were looking for artists willing to put their pieces on consignment or entrust at the Center."
After some time passed, Rainey received a message from the artist, and it was to her surprise the artist lived in Marshfield.
"He came back with, 'My family and I love Hidden Waters Nature Park. We are from Marshfield.' it was quite a shock," said Rainey.
The artist is Adam Freeman, a skilled woodworker who makes various handcrafted furniture from cherry, oak, walnut, and other hardwoods. The wood used in the pieces is sourced from the Ozarks area and milled from local Amish. Freemen also works with other businesses throughout the process, including kiln drying and metal fabrication, to ensure that each piece of furniture looks great and will last a long time.
"Bringing the captivating essence of the outdoors into interior spaces is what truly excites me," said Freeman.
"He came out here, measured the area, and to our surprise, donated, and delivered this walnut table to us," said Rainey.
The generosity continues further as Freeman has committed that if customers mention his table at the Welcome Center, he will donate 25% of the proceeds to the Hidden Waters Nature Park. Freeman's works can be found under the name OzarksWoodland on Etsy.
