The Marshfield High School marching band recently took a little hometown history on the road and returned home with a fourth-place finish at the Ozark Mountain Marching Festival in Reeds Spring.

The band’s show focused on Route 66, a highway that’s been part of Marshfield’s story for generations. With cars, colorful banners, and music, the students brought that history to life on the field.

Joe Thomas, who attended the competition and took photos, said it was his first chance to see the show this season. He was impressed with how everything came together.

“There was so much thought put into the show,” Thomas said, praising the music, costumes, and choreography.

Marshfield made it through the preliminary round before finishing fourth in the finals.

For Thomas, it was fun to see local students showcase their talents while celebrating what makes Marshfield special.

“It was one of the best shows I’ve seen, and it was great to watch,” he said.
