Webster County Library announces free September programs

Posted

The Webster County Library is inviting families, teens, and adults to take part in a wide range of free programs this September, offering everything from preschool story hours to hands-on coding, crafts, and community events.

For the youngest learners, Preschool Storytime will be held every Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m., featuring the same program on both days for added flexibility. Parents of infants and toddlers can also join Toddler Time on September 23 at 10 a.m., which offers fun activities designed to promote early learning in children ages 0–36 months.

School-age children and families will find plenty of opportunities to learn and play together. The Game-On! series invites ages 7–16 to enjoy board games, chess, and Rubik’s Cube fun on September 8 and 29 at 2 p.m. Younger children in grades K–6 can try their hand at creative Kid Craft projects, including bottle cap animal portraits on September 11 and paper plate frisbees on September 16, both at 4:15 p.m. The library will also host STEAM!—a program blending science, technology, engineering, art, and math—on September 15 at 2 p.m. for ages 9–15. Lego Super Saturday will bring building fun for all ages on September 27 from 1:30–3 p.m. And to cap off the month, the Scratch Coding Club will meet on September 30 at 4:15 p.m., offering ages 9–15 the chance to learn beginner-friendly computer coding. Most kids’ programs require registration.

Teens ages 13–17 are invited to join two special programs in September. Teen Craft on September 18 at 4:15 p.m. will feature binary code bracelets, while the Teen Crochet Club will meet September 22 from 1:30–2:30 p.m. to teach the basics of crochet. Registration is required for both events.

The library hasn’t forgotten adults. Adult Crochet Basics will be offered every Thursday at 10 a.m. throughout the month. On September 30 at 10 a.m., the Adult Inclusion Craft will provide a welcoming space for adults with developmental disabilities to take part in a fun, creative project. Registration is required for both programs.

All programs are free and open to the public. Events are color-coded on the library’s September calendar, making it easy to see which activities are geared toward kids and families, teens, preschoolers, or adults. A full schedule and registration links can be found at webstercountylibrary.org, or by following the library on Facebook. With such a variety of programs, the Webster County Library is offering something for every age group this September—helping the community learn, create, and connect.
