Sleepers in September Drive brings warmth to local infants

Posted

Newborns in Need is once again launching its annual “Sleepers in September” campaign, a nationwide effort dedicated to keeping infants safe and warm through the winter months. The sleeper drive runs through September and October and encourages community members to donate new, gently used, or handmade infant sleepwear.

Locally, the Southwest Missouri Chapter is seeking sleepers in sizes newborn to 18 months. Donations will be distributed to babies in need across the region, providing comfort to families facing medical or financial challenges.

Collection points include the Webster County Health Unit and during Newborns in Need workdays at the Catholic church in Mansfield, held Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Patty Shull, president of the Southwest Missouri Chapter, emphasized the importance of the effort. “Each donation directly impacts families right here in our community. By giving something as simple as a sleeper, you’re helping to ensure babies stay warm, safe, and cared for this winter.”

Newborns in Need is a nonprofit organization that provides essentials such as diapers, clothing, blankets, bottles, hygiene products, and more, free of charge. All donations remain within the community.
