The Webster County Health Unit has received shipments of seasonal flu vaccine and is now offering vaccinations to the public. Annual flu shots are recommended for everyone ages six months and older as the most effective protection against influenza.
“Flu season is just around the corner, and getting vaccinated is the most effective way to reduce your risk of illness,” said Lisa Tindall, Nursing Supervisor of the Webster County Health Unit. “We encourage community members to protect themselves and their loved ones by getting their flu shot early.”
Influenza can cause mild to severe illness and, in some cases, lead to serious complications, hospitalization, or even death. Health officials emphasize that vaccination not only protects the individual but also helps safeguard the community by reducing the spread of the virus.
Flu shots are available during regular business hours at the Webster County Health Unit, located at 233 E. Washington Street in Marshfield. No appointment is necessary, and vaccines are being provided regardless of one’s ability to pay.
