One of Marshfield's favorite summer traditions is getting ready to return.
The 16th annual Marshfield Reunion Fest is set for July 3 at the Marshfield Community Center campus, also known to many as the old high school grounds. The event runs from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and is open to alumni, friends, family members, and anyone who wants to join the celebration.
Organizer Lyndall Fraker said the event has grown into a gathering that brings together multiple generations of Marshfield residents. In many cases, grandparents, parents, and recent graduates all attend the same reunion.
The evening will feature live music from two bands, food trucks, refreshments, and fireworks around 9:30 p.m. An Outstanding Alumni Award presentation is also planned. This year's recipients are twin sisters Martha Fyan Fogelsong and Jane Fyan Henson, both members of the Marshfield High School Class of 1964. Fraker said the sisters have spent years supporting local schools, scholarships, churches, and community organizations.
Several graduating classes will also hold their own reunions during the event, including the classes of 1966, 1971, 1976, and 1986.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy the evening on the back field. If bad weather moves in, activities can shift indoors to the gymnasium.
