Fans of "The Office" will have a chance to see Rainn Wilson in Springfield this fall.
Missouri State University has announced that the actor, comedian, and bestselling author will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2026 Public Affairs Conference. Wilson will speak at 7 p.m. on Sept. 29 at Juanita K. Hammons Hall.
The conference theme is “The We Factor: Building Connections That Matter.”
Best known for playing Dwight Schrute on NBC's "The Office," Wilson has spent much of his career exploring topics like community, purpose, creativity, and mental health through his media company, SoulPancake, and his writing.
Missouri State Foundation President and CEO Brent Dunn said Wilson will bring a thoughtful perspective on how people find meaning and connection through community.
The keynote presentation is free and open to the public, and no tickets are required.
Those wanting a more personal experience can attend a VIP event before the keynote. The gathering includes a photo opportunity with Wilson, an autographed copy of his latest book, refreshments, and reserved seating for the presentation. Tickets are $150.
In addition to "The Office," Wilson has appeared in films and television shows including "Juno," "Galaxy Quest," "Star Trek: Discovery," and "Lessons in Chemistry." He is also the author of several books, including "Soul Boom" and "The Bassoon King."
The Public Affairs Conference runs Sept. 29 through Oct. 1.
