Practical Economic Insights for Agricultural Lenders in 2026

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Agricultural lenders serving Missouri’s farmers and rural communities are invited to attend the 2026 Agricultural Lender Seminars this fall, hosted by University of Missouri Extension, the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute (FAPRI), and the Rural and Farm Finance Policy Analysis Center (RaFF). These seminars provide essential updates on commodity markets, input costs, cash flow, land values, and region-specific agricultural topics.

Ben Brown, MU Extension agricultural economist and program coordinator, emphasized the value of these events:

“These agricultural lending seminars are designed with the needs of the state of Missouri in mind. Information regarding commodity markets, input costs, cash flow, and land markets will be covered at each location, but we’ve also carefully selected topics relevant to each region. We value this opportunity to assist lenders and their clients in growing the agricultural industry of our state.”

Nov. 4 – Jefferson City

Nov. 6 – Springfield

Nov. 13 – Sikeston

Nov. 18 – Warsaw

Nov. 20 – Chillicothe

Nov. 25 – Mexico

Regional Topics Include:

Jefferson City – Cattle and forage production resources

Springfield – Specialty crop and value-added agricultural resources

Sikeston – Southeastern crop outlooks, carbon intensity scoring in row crop production, and machinery economics

Warsaw – Poultry and egg industry updates

Chillicothe – Policy and tax updates

Mexico – Regulatory updates for Missouri agriculture
