New Photo Studio in Marshfield Gives Locals Room to Create

Posted

There’s a new creative space taking shape on the square, and it’s built with a simple idea in mind. Keep it flexible. Keep it welcoming.

Haily Hearod, the photographer behind Harrod Photo Co., has opened what she calls a studio loft. It’s not your typical setup. Neutral tones. Open space. A place that can shift depending on who walks through the door.

Hearod specializes in branding and event photography. No weddings. Everything else is fair game. But what really stands out is her focus on supporting other local businesses. She wants them to use the space. Rent it. Make it their own for a few hours.

She recently booked her first outside photographer to use the studio. That’s part of the vision. Give people a place to create without having to leave town.

Hearod’s been around photography most of her life. She says it goes back to her mom, who loved taking pictures. It stuck. After raising her kids and helping run a family business, she decided to take it full-time.

Her sessions don’t follow a strict formula. Each one looks a little different. Some are indoors, some outside. Some are planned. Some just happen in the moment.

She actually prefers it that way.

Kids, especially, are her favorite. She calls them the most natural subjects. They don’t sit still long. They don’t try to pose too much. You just let them be themselves and catch the moments as they come.
