MoDOT Outlines $32.8 Million U.S. 60 Improvements

Posted

MoDOT is moving forward with a $32.8 million project to improve safety and traffic flow along U.S. Route 60 in Webster County.

At a Sept. 29 public hearing in Seymour, residents reviewed plans for a new interchange at Route C/K. The design, similar to the “dog bone” overpass in Rogersville, will realign Route K, connect Hutchens Industries’ drive to the interchange, and add outer roads north of Route 60 between Enterprise Drive and Skyline Road.

Other changes include a J-turn at West Clinton Avenue and the removal of four crossovers, including Skyline Drive and Lynch Drive. Presiding Commissioner Paul Ipock said the project was well-received.

MoDOT’s timeline calls for final design in 2027, right-of-way acquisition that same year, and construction beginning in 2028. Drivers can expect occasional lane closures, narrowed lanes and temporary access disruptions once work begins.

Residents may leave comments on the project through Oct. 13 at modot.org.
