Aaron McDaris of McDaris Music Festivals, which operates Starvy Creek Bluegrass Festivals, was recently recognized as Promoter of the Year at the annual SPBGMA Convention.
McDaris said the award reflects the collective efforts of the family members, friends and volunteers who help make each Starvy Creek event successful. Despite winter weather conditions during the convention, McDaris said the weekend was filled with music, fellowship and appreciation for the many promoters and venues who work year-round to support bluegrass music.
McDaris also emphasized the importance of acknowledging all promoters in the category, noting the dedication and passion required to organize live music events and build lasting community connections. He expressed gratitude to those who voted, attended shows and supported Starvy Creek throughout the year, adding that the organization looks forward to another strong season ahead.
Looking ahead, McDaris will promote an upcoming concert at the Cowan Civic Center in Lebanon featuring Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, with DEK of Hearts opening the show. The concert is set for Saturday, March 14, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the show beginning at 7 p.m.
