Families looking for an affordable way to wrap up the summer are invited to saddle up and head to Fordland City Park on Saturday, Aug. 30, for Wild West Day, hosted by the Fordland Community Betterment Association (FCBA).
Running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the event offers free admission and promises a full day of music, food, games, and Old West entertainment.
Live music performances from regional artists Jaidyn LaBorde and Luke Aker will set the tone, while reenactments from the Crooked River Posse will bring cowboy history to life.
The FCBA said the event was planned to give local families a chance to enjoy the community without worrying about cost.
“There’s something for everyone, and it’s completely free,” said Susan Brewer, an organizer of the event.
Children can enjoy a free Kids Zone with games and activities, while visitors of all ages can browse multiple craft vendors and grab a bite from a variety of food trucks.
An open jam session will close out the afternoon from 1:30 to 3 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to bring their own instruments and sound equipment to join in.
