A man facing felony child sex abuse charges in Oklahoma was arrested last week in Webster County and later transferred to Greene County as part of the extradition process.
Joseph Lyle Campbell was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals at his residence in Elkland, Missouri, on Dec. 18. The arrest was made in connection with a fugitive warrant tied to charges filed in Tulsa County, Oklahoma, including first-degree rape and lewd or indecent acts involving a child under the age of 16.
Following his arrest in Elkland, Campbell was transported to Greene County, where he is being held pending extradition proceedings to Oklahoma. Court records indicate the charges stem from alleged offenses that occurred in Oklahoma before Campbell left the state.
Campbell appeared before the Greene County Circuit Court, Division 4, where bond was set at $150,000 cash only. A hearing in the matter is scheduled for Jan. 14, 2026.
The fugitive warrant authorizes Campbellās detention in Missouri while Oklahoma authorities seek his return to face the underlying criminal charges.
As with all criminal cases, Campbell is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
