Health Unit ‘adopts’ Blessing Box From OACAC

Posted

The community “Blessing Box,” formerly located at the Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC) in Marshfield, has a new home at the Webster County Health Unit, 233 E. Washington Street, Marshfield.

The Blessing Box is a free, 24/7-access pantry stocked with non-perishable food, hygiene products, and small household essentials for anyone in need. Community members are encouraged to contribute to the box year-round. Donations may be dropped off inside the Webster County Health Unit during normal business hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm.

Keeping the Blessing Box well-stocked throughout the year helps meet changing needs. Consider these seasonal donation suggestions:

Spring: Canned tuna/chicken, peanut butter, rice, pasta, pasta sauce, canned vegetables, personal hygiene items.

Summer: Bottled water, electrolyte drink mixes, single-serve snacks, sunscreen, insect repellent, canned fruit in juice.

Fall: Canned chili, soups, oatmeal packets, pasta, shelf-stable milk, hand warmers, gloves, socks.

Winter: Hot cocoa mix, instant coffee, tea bags, canned stews, blankets, lip balm, lotion, cold-weather accessories.

“We’re grateful for the community’s generosity in helping us keep the Blessing Box full,” said Lora Smith who coordinates the project for the Webster County Health Unit. “Small donations add up to a big impact for neighbors who might be struggling.”
