Governor Mike Kehoe has announced five appointments and reappointments to state boards and commissions, bringing a mix of experience from agriculture, elections, law, workforce development, and public utilities.
Among those selected is Robert Alpers of Prairie Home, who was reappointed to the Clean Water Commission. Alpers serves as secretary and treasurer of Alpers Brothers Farms and has been involved with several agricultural organizations throughout Missouri. He also serves as chairman of the Cooper County Ambulance District.
Susan Diraimondo of St. Louis was reappointed to the St. Louis City Board of Election Commissioners. Before retiring, she spent more than 15 years working with the board in a variety of roles, including voter outreach and election worker training.
The governor also appointed two members to the State Rehabilitation Council.
Tom Pirmantgen of New Bloomfield currently works as an attorney and application unit chief with Missouri Protection and Advocacy Services. He previously practiced law in private practice and earned his law degree from the University of Missouri.
Joining him on the council is John Scalise of Columbia. Scalise serves as president and CEO of Job Point, a nonprofit organization focused on employment and community development. He has long been involved in efforts supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities across Missouri.
Closer to home, Springfield resident John Twitty was appointed to the Missouri Ethics Commission.
Twitty recently retired as president and CEO of the Missouri Public Utility Alliance after a lengthy career in the utility industry. He has also served on numerous community and state boards, including the Missouri State Lottery Commission, Mercy Springfield Communities, and Jordan Valley Community Health Center.
The appointments continue Kehoe's efforts to fill key positions on state boards and commissions with individuals from a variety of professional backgrounds and regions across Missouri.
