The Vivian Stuber Memorial Library is inviting patrons to clear their overdue fines while supporting a local cause through its newly launched “Food for Fines” program. Effective immediately and continuing until further notice, library users may bring unexpired, undamaged non-perishable food items to the library in exchange for their accumulated fines.
All donations collected through this effort will be delivered directly to the Niangua Food Pantry, helping support families in the local community during the holiday season and beyond.
In addition to the Food for Fines initiative, the library is also spreading some Christmas cheer with a holiday cash drawing. Participants must be 18 years or older and hold a Vivian Stuber Memorial Library card. New patrons are welcome and fully eligible to enter. Only one entry per address is permitted, and you do not need to be present to win.
The drawing will take place on December 12, when the library will award five separate cash prizes of $100.00 each.
The Vivian Stuber Memorial Library first began as a community project in 2007 and officially opened its doors in September 2011. The library was named in honor of Vivian Stuber, the beloved longtime Niangua educator whose commitment to learning and community service continues to inspire the mission of the facility.
For more information about the Food for Fines program or the Christmas drawing, patrons are encouraged to visit the library during regular business hours. The library is open Monday-Friday, 1-4 PM.
