Southwest Missouri Congressman and Congressman Glenn Grothman of Wisconsin will host a roundtable this week focused on the impact of the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, a federal law signed by President Donald Trump in July 2025.
The event, titled “The Working Families Tax Cuts in Practice: Rewarding Work, Not Washington,” is scheduled for June 4 at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C.
The discussion will examine how the tax law has affected workers, families, businesses, and manufacturers since it took effect. Participants are expected to discuss whether the legislation has increased economic opportunity, encouraged job growth, and allowed taxpayers to keep more of their earnings.
Burlison and Grothman said the law was designed to provide tax relief while encouraging business investment and domestic manufacturing.
In a joint statement, the congressmen said Republicans are focused on supporting workers and taxpayers rather than expanding government. They argued the legislation has helped create economic growth and new opportunities for families, small businesses, and local communities.
Several policy and business leaders are expected to take part in the roundtable. Scheduled participants include Garret Watson of the Tax Foundation, Matthew Dickerson of Baseline Policy, Charles Crain of the National Association of Manufacturers, and Jack Schron, president and CEO of Jergens Inc.
The roundtable is set to begin Thursday at 2 p.m. Eastern Time and will focus on the law's real-world effects nearly a year after it was signed.
