3rd Annual Senior Fashion Show

Posted

The 3rd Annual "Spring Into Life" fashion show is fast approaching.

Larry Wilson, with Young & Company insurance and the Springfield Area Senior Huddle (SASH), describes the event as a moment for seniors to "just tear it up" and "really get into it." SASH is a network of professionals—including attorneys, advisors, and care providers—focused on serving older adults. Last year's participants ranged from their late 60s to 99 years old.

The show started as a simple idea to celebrate seniors and give them the spotlight, pampering them before they "get up there and just shine," Wilson notes.

Set for May 28 from 5 to 7 p.m., this year's third annual event will be held at the OLD GLASS building in downtown Springfield.

Beyond celebrating seniors, the fashion show has a vital cause: raising funds for the Veterans Military Coalition of the Ozarks (VMCO). VMCO assists veterans in securing long-sought-after benefits, disability claims, and services. Last year's event raised approximately $7,000, and this year's goal is to surpass that amount, perhaps by a significant margin.

Wilson summarizes the mission simply: "Raise some money. Support veterans. And give seniors a chance to have a little fun in the process."
