The sun was shining at the Bass Pro Shops headquarters in Springfield Monday as a line formed over an hour ahead of the store opening. Fans arrived as early as 6:30 a.m. for a chance to see country superstar Garth Brooks. The surprise appearance marked the early release of his new studio album “Time Traveler,” which is exclusively sold at Bass Pro Shops as a part of a CD box set. more

Cooler weather and hunting season can mean fun for all ages. This weekend wrapped up the early youth portion of deer season. Several local young hunters ages 6 to 15 participated in the age-old tradition. They did not fail to impress, as preliminary data from the Missouri of Conservation shows 11,219 deer were harvested statewide, with 141 coming from Webster County. more

Nov. 5 will mark the end of daylight savings for 2023. Whatever happened to the U.S. Government putting a stop to the back and forth of the clock? In March last year, the U.S. unanimously passed the Sunshine Protection Act of 2021 (S.623). The bill would make Daylight Saving Time permanent throughout the U.S., starting Nov. 5, 2023, with the exception of states like Arizona and Hawaii, which do not observe Daylight Savings. more
