The Salvation Army “Battle of the Banks” challenge concluded with a clear winner: Arvest Bank took the top spot with $175.00. Central Bank took second with $59.30, followed by Southern Bank, Seymour Bank, Simmons and Stockmen’s. Arvest will get to display the Red Kettle Statue until next year when we hope to repeat the challenge. more
In an attempt to protect the residents of Webster County over the coming holiday season, the Webster County Health Unit will be hosting an Influenza (seasonal flu) and COVID-19 vaccine clinic at its Marshfield office. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), in 2023, more than 900,000 people were hospitalized due to COVID-19 and more than 75,000 people died from the disease. During the 2023-2024 flu season, more than 44,000 people are estimated to have died from flu complications. more

The second annual Marshfield Veterans Day Parade is set for Saturday, Nov. 9. The parade theme is "Salute a Veteran” and will be following the same route as the annual Christmas parade. The parade will line-up on Washington, near Pine Street and head towards the square starting at 2 p.m., offering a heartfelt tribute to the courage and sacrifice of our veterans. more

The Webster County Extension Council proudly announces the graduation of the inaugural class of the Leadership Marshfield program, a seven-month initiative aimed at developing future leaders in Marshfield and surrounding areas. The first cohort includes the following dedicated individuals; Mallory Barnes, Deborah Reece, and Kelsey Ragsdale, Leah Shelby, Al Berry, Jennifer Steen, Melissa Mall, Rebecca Lawrence, James McConnell, Kathryn McConnell and Aubren Dudley. These participants have acquired essential leadership skills to drive community impact and development. The program was funded by member businesses including Webster Electric, The Seymour Bank, City of Marshfield, Tyler Pipe, Southern Bank, Marshfield Chamber of Commerce, Donco 3 and the Dickey House. Leadership Marshfield addresses the critical need for leaders, board members and innovators within the community by offering a comprehensive curriculum that explores various sectors like commerce, healthcare, and local government. more

The winner will get to display “Captain Kettle” for the next year. more
