Thousands raised at Thanksgiving Day 5k

Posted

Dozens lined Washington Street Thursday morning for the 13th Annual Gobble Wobble hosted by the Webster County Health Unit. This year’s 5k benefit raised $4,200 for the work of Safe Harbor Victims Assistance Program.

The 5k fun run started and ended in front of the heath unit after Pastor Bruce Blankenship of the Show Me Cowboy Church gave the invocation. Friends and family members of the participants roared in the crowd as the runners took off. Though runners were registered from as far as Michigan, three Marshfield teenagers won the top three spots.

The first place prize was awarded to Marshfield Senior Zach Mitchell with a time of 18:27. 16-year-old Samson Stalker placed second place and Cole Brown, age 15, took third.
