According to authorities and eye-witnesses along Spur Drive, the motorcycle was traveling at a rate of speed estimated to be around 100 miles per hour when he T-Boned a Marshfield Police truck. The bike wedged underneath the truck and engulfed both the motorcycle in flames.

The Webster County Coroner pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The officer is currently at Mercy Hospital in Springfield receiving treatment for his injuries.

The name of the deceased has not been released as next-of-kin  has not yet been notified. Authorities are asking for the public to refrain from sharing the deceased persons name until they are able to properly notify them.

The Highway Patrol confirmed the motorcycle was stolen.

Just over a week and a half ago, Chief Doug Fannen engaged in a pursuit with a black colored motorcycle with no registration and a driver with a similar helmet. Fannen followed the bike from OO highway and Spur Drive to the city limits of Springfield where he discontinued due to safety reasons. According to police, there is no way to confirm it was the same  but had the same design and color combinations.
