Rogersville residents give back with park improvements

Posted

John Killingsworth and his son Andy own American Paving in Rogersville, who recently remodeled the basketball goals and court at the city’s park. The pair have replaced the basketball goals with heavy duty, industrial backboards so they will last for years to come.

“This was all Andy Killingsworth,” said his father, John. “He’s the one who came up with the idea and he’s the one who did the work. It’s still in progress, we’re in the middle of replacing the south side fence and we’re replacing the fabric on the north side as well.”

The pair built the goals, painted and placed them as well as having the court sealed and striped. All of this work was donated by the two for the citizens of Rogersville.

“We’re from Rogersville and I have 4 little grandkids that go to school there and we do a lot of work for the city,” he added. “I know there’s a lot of controversy about stuff here so we thought we’d donate something and maybe some good would come from it.”
