Lady Jays shine in first meet

Marshfield’s Lady Jays traveled to Diamond for the Diamond Turkey Tussle on Tuesday, Nov. 21 to start their season. Ten schools competed at the meet.

El Dorado Springs came into the season as the No. 2 ranked team in the state but fell to the Lady Jays by 49 points in the team totals.

Freshmen Gracie Hursh, Carlynn Mynatt and Sarah Wilson, junior Alyxandrea Keifert, and seniors Camryn Elliot, Izzy Whitlock, and Bella Kilgore all took home first place in their weight classes.

Kilgore is a newcomer to the program but is clearly catching on.

“These ladies started the season off in dominant fashion,” said head coach Adam Wright. “I’m excited to keep this momentum going as we get through the season."

Freshman Payton Boyce and sophomore Abygail Spencer both secured a second-place finish.

Bianca Dockery, a junior, took third place in her class.

Sophomores Chloe Bateman and Jasmine Cody finished fourth.
