County Farm Bureau leaders attend MOFB annual meeting

Missouri Farm Bureau members returned to their annual meeting December 2-5 at the Lake of the Ozarks. The 109 th meeting theme, Guided by Tradition, focused on the organization’s strong traditions in leadership and policy development as it paves a path for the future of agriculture. Farm Bureau leaders’ main responsibility at the meeting is to discuss and approve Farm Bureau legislative policies for 2024.

During the convention, Farm Bureau counties were recognized for their advocacy and service to members. County delegates also re-elected Marion County farmer Todd Hayes as vice as president and re- elected board members from the 5 th , 6 th , 7 th , 8 th and North-at-Large districts.

Members from the Webster County Farm Bureau joined more than 1,100 other members from throughout the state, many of them delegates voting on policy. Those attending from the county were Gary and Sandy Letterman, David and Robin Marlin, Mark and Emma Alexander, Craig and Shannan Linder, Jason and Mandy Duncan, and Bill Messick.

The county was recognized for its membership activities during a Gold Star Awards program, Webster County Farm Bureau leader Gary Letterman received a plaque from MOFB Board member Duane Kaiser.

Jack Worsham also competed in the MOFB Ambassador Contest during the meeting. He is the son of William and Shelby Worsham and is a student at Ozarks Technical Community College. This year 17 students competed in the contest, which began in the morning with judges interviewing each of them. That evening, six finalists broke into two panel discussion groups taking questions from the judges and

discussing them. The Ambassador program is sponsored by the MOFB Promotion and Education Committee. Scholarship funds come from the MOFB Foundation for Agriculture.
