Kansas City Chiefs fans can donate blood this fall for a free t-shirt. During the months of October and November, the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is offering donors a T-shirt identifying the wearer as a member of Chiefs Kingdom and a proud lifesaver.
The heather-gray shirt features the familiar Chiefs arrowhead logo with the iconic “KC” in the middle.
Successful blood donors at CBCO blood drives and Missouri Donor Centers across the region will
receive this shirt that shows their team and community spirit, while supplies last.
“We are so excited to partner with the Chiefs to offer these great gifts for donors,” CBCO Media
Relations Representative Chris Pilgrim said. “We invite blood donors to support the area’s favorite NFL team as well as support saving lives right here in the region. You’re going to love the shirt and love the feeling you get when you save lives via your gift of a blood donation.”
Going into October, CBCO reports area blood reserves at less than a three-day supply for most blood
types. Since CBCO donors provide all of the blood that the region uses, a robust supply is very
important to ensure that local patient care continues without interruption.
“This blood stays right here in our communities in Southwest Missouri and right now, CBCO is the only provider for blood in this area,” said Chris Parker of the Marshfield Senior Center. “With COVID, blood drives have been down in numbers so it’s really important for the community to come out and donate if they’re able.”
A Marshfield Community Blood Drive will take place on the lower level of the Marshfield Senior Center (427 W. Washington Street) on Monday, Oct. 18 from 12:30–6:30 p.m. The CBCO does recommend following current CDC guidelines for masking and appointments are strongly encouraged to manage donor flow.
