A steady breeze provided some relief for Saturday’s exceptionally warm Marshfield Classic Golf Tournament at Whispering Oaks Golf Course.
In the midst of the pandemic, participants were fewer in 2020, but a representative from the organizing Marshfield Chamber of Commerce indicated that the number of teams had returned back to standard for this year’s event, sporting its typical two-person scramble structure.
Eric Glidewell and David Lehr were winners of the Championship Flight. Justin Cox and Jon Freeman were the runner-up duo and Cody Mottesheard and Jeff Yahn came in third.
in the A Flight, Dan Chapman and Bill Stringer were first-place finishers with pairs of Jackie Atkinson and Bob White along with Garrett Dollins and Kevin Kolstad taking second and third place, respectively.
B Flight winners were Charley Murphy and Greg Royal, while the tandem of Dan Watson and Randy Burton captured second; Tyler Templeton and Brandon Hamilton came in third.
From the C Flight, Mark Matus and Drew Wilford landed first. Adam and Loealei Blanch held down second, while Floyd and Shannon Burrows grabbed third.
