The Seymour Bank recently presented checks totaling $37,285.80 to four local schools through its ongoing School Pride Debit Card program. The donations, which support local education, come as part of the bank's commitment to giving back to the communities it serves.
This year’s contributions were made possible through a program that allows customers to support their schools with every debit card swipe. For each signed transaction using a School Pride Debit Card, Seymour Bank donates 5 cents to the customer’s selected school. In total, the bank recorded an impressive 745,716 swipes this year, directly funding these schools.
“We are so proud to continue supporting our local schools through this program,” said a representative of the Seymour Bank.. “It’s thanks to our customers that we’ve been able to donate such a significant amount, and we’re excited to see this community-driven initiative grow each year.”
Among the recipients, Rogersville School District will receive a check for $8,958.15, which will be presented at their banquet early in 2025. The other schools, which remain unnamed in this report, will benefit from the overall $37,285.80 distributed this year.
Since the School Pride Debit Card program began in 2008, Seymour Bank has contributed a total of $244,194.45 to local schools. The initiative has been an ongoing success, with customers helping raise nearly a quarter of a million dollars through their everyday banking activities.
For those interested in participating, it’s easy to help make a difference. Simply stop by any Seymour Bank location to sign up for a School Pride Debit Card. Each time a cardholder chooses to make a signed transaction, they automatically contribute to the school of their choice, earning 5 cents per swipe.
Since opening its Marshfield location in May 2019, Seymour Bank has donated $16,917.15 to local schools in the area, with this year’s check totaling $5,062.45 for Marshfield.
"We’re incredibly grateful to our community for supporting the School Pride program," they added. "Together, we’re making a meaningful impact on local education, one nickel at a time."
Seymour Bank encourages customers to continue using their School Pride Debit Cards and help increase next year’s donation total.
