Marshfield Lady Jays Dominate in Pink and White Tournament Opening Rounds

The Marshfield Lady Jays are making a statement in the Pink and White Tournament at Drury University, securing two impressive victories to advance to the next round. With their strong play on both ends of the court, the #4-seeded Lady Jays have quickly become one of the teams to watch in the tournament.

Marshfield Overpowers Miller in First Round

In their opening-round matchup, the Marshfield Lady Jays drew the Miller Lady Cardinals, who have been a powerhouse in recent years, winning six consecutive district titles and boasting a 147-32 record over the past six seasons. Despite Miller’s strong pedigree, Marshfield controlled the game from the second quarter onward, earning a 52-28 victory.

The Lady Jays held a slim 10-9 lead after the first quarter but stretched it to a more comfortable 25-16 by halftime. They continued to build their lead in the second half, outscoring Miller 27-12 to secure the commanding win.

Outscoring Glendale 29-4 in the second half, Marshfield turned a tight contest into a one-sided affair. The Lady Jays won the second half by a stunning 29-4 margin, including a 17-3 advantage in the third quarter and a 12-1 run in the fourth, as the mercy clock was implemented. The final score was 53-21, a dominant performance by Marshfield.

Pink Division Tournament Update: Strafford, Rogersville Advance to Semifinals

The first two rounds of the Pink Division Tournament saw some thrilling matchups, with several top seeds asserting their dominance while a couple of lower-seeded teams made their mark. Here's a recap of all the action:

Strafford Lady Indians Roll to Semifinals

The #2-seeded Strafford Lady Indians started their tournament journey with a solid win over unseeded Thayer in the first round, posting a 56-38 victory. Strafford then faced off against the #7 seed Norwood in the second round, securing another comfortable win, 64-50, to advance to the semifinals.

Logan-Rogersville Dominates in Round Two

#4-seeded Logan-Rogersville also cruised through their first-round matchup, defeating unseeded Bolivar 48-32. In the second round, they took on #5-seeded Republic, emerging victorious with a 61-50 win to book their spot in the semifinals.
