Steve Ahrens, President/CEO of the Missouri Propane Gas Association, has been elected to the LP Gas Hall of Fame. The announcement came from LP Gas magazine which founded the Hall in 2012.

A member of the Hall’s Class of 2023, Ahrens joins long-time industry contributors Tom Jaenicke, Bill Primm and the late Don Schultz. The group will be inducted on April 23 in Nashville.

Ahrens, who joined MPGA in December 1999, fills several roles with Missouri’s propane organizations. He serves as President/CEO of MPGA, President of the Missouri Propane Education and Research Council, and is an officer for MPGA’s for-profit subsidiary, LPGA Inc. In June 2022, Ahrens also began managing the Arkansas Propane Gas Association and Arkansas PERC.

“This recognition really honors the men and women who have led the MPGA and OPERC boards over the years,” Ahrens said. “They have provided the resources, opportunity and inspiration responsible for our success. It’s been a privilege to work with these amazing business leaders to help the industry realize its potential.”

Ahrens received a Bachelor’s degree from (Southwest) Missouri State University in 1979. Prior to coming to MPGA, he worked in management for the Missouri Secretary of State and the Office of Administration. He and his wife, Carla, reside in Jefferson City.
